I Hope You Voted

Seriously.

If you're eligible to vote and chose not to push a button, or draw a line, or check a box, or fill out an absentee ballot…. why? If you chose not to vote and then complain about ANYTHING during the next few years – then I hope you get hit by a bus. A bus with pointy spikes all over it.

Even if your vote was stupid (like voting for McCain), at least you took the time and made the effort to have your views and beliefs better represented in our government. I know 2 people that admit to voting for McCain, and 4 that didn't vote – one of which is proud of the fact that he didn't vote. I'd rather know 6 people that voted for McCain.

people who brag that they didn't vote are trying to elevate themselves like they are too important to vote. When in all reality they are doing the opposite, they are lowering themselves by not declaring their voice in the larger group. They think they can run amuk all outside the system. But to make a difference, you need to vote in the system.

I agree with you sparx, i'd MUCH rather hear someone voted for a brain-dead candidate who will only sever our relationship with the world community more than to hear someone say didn't didn't vote at all.

Obama is sexy. Here in kiwiland it is polling day and I will be voting. However I must admit when I was 18, I had to be dragged to the polling booth to vote because I really didn't give a crap. My Mum got so angry with me she literally forced me in the car and down to the town hall to vote. I'm glad she did that. Anyway I have a different attitude now, and get really pissed of at people who don't vote, especially those who think it makes them cool or a rebel.
