David Hasselhoff – Confrontation (Jekyll & Hyde) [YouTube]

Ok, this is pretty ridiculous… who would ever come up with the idea of casting The Hoff as Jekyll (and Hyde)?

Have you actually watched and LISTENED to this?
Compare some of the others who attempt this VERY difficult production. The Hoff has turned Jekyll into a strong, committed scientist taken over by the even more powerful Hyde. All others have gone for the sympathy vote!
The Hoff turned a good Broadway production into a GREAT broadway Show – without him it goeas back down to a good show rather than a really GREAT production. The cast, crew and the show itself, great as they are, have been lifted out of almost obscurity by the RIGHT leading man for this show!

Are you asking if I've watched the video that I posted?

I'll be totally honest: sometimes I'll watch "Knight Rider" if it happens to be on. I'm not sure how much his acting has improved since then. I was not impressed by this clip.

I might rate it a tad bit higher if he managed to keep his shirt on.

If you want to really evaluate the performance of Hassellhoff, (and I admit that the trade mark shirt ripping is a promo event for Broadway) compare the rest of his performances in the show – I would recommend "This is the Moment" as this was the big hit from the show and every wannabe barritone tried his hand (voice) at it.
Consider also, the fact that this IS Broadway where the show is important. The strength of the characterizations, vocals and stage presence of the Hoff is streets ahead of any of the 20+ other Jekyll/Hyde performers I have seen across the world in the past 10 years or so.
As a theatre director I DO get to see a lot of stuff that is like rap music to my eyes. (That with the silent "C" in front of it.)
It is good though that you at least gave him a go.
