Twix Raider
Twix candy bars were originally sold under the brand name "Raider" in many countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Norway). The Raider name was ditched in many countries in 1991, and in 2000 was completely replaced by the Twix brand.
But… "Raider" has to be one of the coolest names you could give a food product. The only way you could really improve on that is to tack "Twix" on to the front of it. The Twix brand has spawned many variants (Peanut Butter Twix, Fudge Twix, Twix Java, etc.) so why not a "Twix Raider"? I'm imagining a hazelnut flavored caramel. Someone from Mars/Twix needs to read this and completely rip off the idea.
"Twix Raider" would also give the guys in the advertising and design departments a lot of room to play. Imagine if someone had thought of this earlier – there could have been a product tie-in with the latest Indiana Jones movie. The logo could have used a really cool "archeological adventure" font (not Helvetica), and maybe even included a fedora or a whip. Theatres could have run ads for Twix candy bars – Twix Raider candy bars – before the previews, instead of those annoying Pepsi Max "advertainment" commercials. George Lucas and Mars, Inc. missed out on this one I guess.

Raider is a cool name for a candy bar, but not because of the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Sorry Sparx, but that is LAME. Raider is cool just cuz that word by itself. It should be in some sort of cool futuristic looking font. Kinda like how the Milky Way packaging looks now, but only more futuristic.
Maybe I favor the futuristic bent over the jungle journey theme, because i'm more of a sci-fi geek than a let's-swing-from-ropes-in-the-jungle geek. I do appreciate ropes-in-the-jungle, as I do enjoy Raider of the Lost Ark; but I associate that movie more with an older 80's style, that's just rather dated. THAT'S IT! Raiders of the Lost Ark is just dated and old. I don't want my candy bars to be dated and old. That's totally it.
I WANT MY CANDY BARS TO BE FROM THE FUTURE.

I just tossed that idea out there because 1) I still have Indiana Jones on the brain (still haven't seen the newest movie though) and 2) It seems like it would have been fun from a design standpoint. I don't think a marketing campaign like that would have succeeded, but it might have been cool.
Taking the futuristic approach though – wow – that would be great. They could rekindle the "two for me, none for you" slogan, with space pirates in the commercials.. or something. Laser blasters. *pew pew pew*

actually, i am picturing the look of the candy bar now. (with the indiana jones theme).. like, it amoungst all the other candy bars in the candy bar aisle… and it would be cool. How about making the candy bar look like a tool Indiana Jones would use. I do not know what that would be. But something cool. Or maybe it would be something he is chasing after. Yeah!

There ya go! The Twix color scheme is very close to being "Indiana Jones"ish anyway.
I'm really excited about the idea of a caramel-hazelnut candy though. I think I'm going to order a caramel-hazelnut latte when I walk down to the coffee shop later. 🙂
