Perspective
No matter how difficult or hard things get, I can usually come up with something to compare my life to in order to make me feel better.. temporarily. Like paperclips.
Somewhere there is a factory that produces paperclips. And in that factory.. there are people that work in a factory that makes paperclips.
Unfortunately, the "it could be worse" feeling fades quickly. I just wish this all was easier – I don't understand why it can't be.

Actually, I do a similar thing. I like to think that it's nice how we have running water. To think that 200 years ago it wasn't that common. Meaning no toilet. No warm clean water in shower. Or sometimes I'll think that at least I'm not in charge of life-or-death situations. That puts things in perspective pretty quick.
