R.I.P. George

I didn't post this yesterday, because I had to post a retraction to my previous post about putting blogging on hold.

I actually heard someone complain about all the media coverage on George Carlin's death, because he was so "rude and offensive." I guess you either love the guy or hate him, even though I fall somewhere in between those extremes. He was honest, brilliant, and funny. He pushed the envelope and made people think rather than just laugh.

Plus he rode around in a time-traveling phone booth.

He will be missed.

absolutely agreed. the man not only pointed out the truth about our world and our society and all the stupid things going on in it but he did it in such a way as to make us laugh about it. but even after the laughter stopped, his words still made people think about what he said and the full impact of his words.

RIP Mr. Carlin. a great comedian.

I may not agree with everything that Carlin said, but this world most certainly would benefit if we had more George Carlins.

His bit on comparing baseball and football is certainly one the most classic comedy bits of all time. A lot of people would say it's overplayed, but there's no denying its claim as one of the greatest bits of all time.
