Posted Comments
I've always felt like I should contribute more to other blogs by posting comments. Sure, a lot of the time I don't really have anything worth saying, but when has that ever stopped me? +points at entire blog+
I've decided to borrow an idea from spudart and start keeping track of all the comments I post. I think that having something that I can look at and get a quick overview of my comment behavior might encourage me to comment just a bit more.
I'm debating what to do with these. One possibility is to have a post each month containing all comments I've posted from the previous month, or a "best of" if I ever get to the point of having to weed them down.
And to the random interwebbers that may stumble across this post: if you have a blog that you think is worthy
of my comments, post it here in the comments.

A blog that is worthy of your comments? Spudart.org!
Here's why I keep track of my comments:
1) All my comments are archived. That's kinda nice.
2) My friends' blogs and photos get extra SEO by having the links on delicious.
3) All the bookmarks with the "commented" tag on delicious gets tweeted under @mattscomments
4) If something is good enough to be commented, then it's also good enough to be bookmarked. Maybe people will find my friends' blog posts and photos via delicious or twitter.
But you also bring up an interesting point of how to re-use the comments at a later point. Lately many of my comments become a blog post. Just in the past couple weeks, I made three blog posts that started as a comment:
– How Youtube is wrecking story-telling
– Chicago needs less cars, more walking
– Are you tired of Youtube?
It's a good idea to take your top five favorite comments from the past month and make a post out of it. I might do the same. Although, really, i think my top five favorite comments end up being individual blog posts, like the ones mentioned above.

How many total comments does your blog have? Unlikelymoose.com is nearly 5,000. Spudart.org is about to hit 20,000.

You made the 2,500th comment on your blog discovering that it was your 2,500th comment?! THAT IS SO FREAKING AMAZING! HAHA. CONGRATULATIONS! MR. 2500!

Sparx, you made 28.9% of the comments on your blog. That sounds about right. On spudart.org, I make about 25-30% of the comments.

Wow! I'm a significant contributor to this blog!
My previous comment would have been better if I could have been like "Moose has almost 5,000? Well, this is 5,001! BAM!"
