Batman - What Happened To Robin?
I saw The Dark Knight last Sunday, and absolutely loved it!
But Robin? I think there was one Batman movie that had Robin in it.. I think it was called "Batman & Robin".. and I seem to remember it sucking, really badly, although I don't remember the plot at all (which is probably another good sign that it did, in fact, suck).
Timeline-wise, it wouldn't make sense for the new crop of Batman movies (Batman Begins and The Dark Knight) to contain Robin. But, could he possibly be part of a sequel? He just doesn't seem like a vital character at all, in fact I think (unless there was a REALLY strong plot) that he would actually be detrimental to the story.
Plus, what would his costume look like? We've practically outlawed the spandex costumes used during the era of the Batman TV series - so, what does a sidekick wear these days?

They had Batman & Robin on tv recently, so I got sucked in and watched it, since I have never seen that movie before. It did suck. It sucked BAD! It's easily in my top five worst movies ever. And I define a bad movie as one that I should have liked, but I didn't. There are plenty of movies that just bad–like every horror movie ever made. But I don't expect to like a horror movie. And to include horror movies on my top worst list; there would just be too many of them.
The top worst movie ever? Spongebob Squarepants. I was so excited to see that, and it just bombed.
Should Robin be in the Batman movies? I say no. Robin is… I never liked the idea of giving Batman a sidekick. I gotta read the wikipedia entry on Robin to see where just why they made him up. I have a feeling it has to do something with Batman's history of losing his parents and feeling the need to help someone else who lost his parents.

I'll admit to watching Spongebob occasionally. Very rarely, but still, it happens sometimes. I forgot that there was a movie, and when it was being advertised I had no desire to see it whatsoever. I think the only thing that keeps Spongebob from crossing the line between "stupidly funny" and "obnoxiously stupid", for me, is knowing that it's only 20ish minutes long.
I don't remember Robin's backstory at all, but I'm too lazy to look it up right now. Err.. not lazy, I mean.. I'm too busy doing work and not screwing around on the web. Yeah..

I'm not an expert on the batman universe by any means, but basing the timeline on the current movies, it would seem silly for him to have been introduced and to have died between movie 1 and 2. Although, I wouldn't mind if that's the way the story rolls, because I'd rather not have him crop up in the sequel.

Maybe he's not in the movie because it would make Batsy seem like a peado?

I seem to remember from the comic or cartoon that Robin was left on the doorstep as a baby. Could you imagine taking Batman seriously if he were 18 years older? That'd be like your dad fighting crime.
Are you gonna celebrate Douglas Adams Day? I've proclaimed 10/10/10 to be a holiday in his honor. (101010 is binary for 42)

Wow, out of context.. that sounds kind of.. wrong.
Just in case one of you doesn't know what a "Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster" is - it's an alcoholic drink mentioned in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy".
The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.
It says that the effect of a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.

The guide also mentions that alcohol is a colour-less, volatile liquid that has intoxicating effects on certain carbon-based lifeforms.
