I Can't Find Any Tape

I'm trying to send a package.. but I can't find any tape. Which, obviously, makes it rather difficult to tape the box shut. All of my paper was in one of the boxes that I moved last weekend, so I don't have anything to write a note on either. *sigh*

I may not be able to post anything tomorrow.. I know - sorry.

I'm also spending a good chunk of my time thinking about making pizza.. I can't imagine why… ;-)

Alright. I'm gonna go back to packing/moving now.

Welcome To The Show

This Sunday - I'd like to invite everyone to watch what will most likely be an incredibly humorous last-ditch moving effort.

Highlights include:

  • Swearing. A lot.
  • Advanced Tetris moves in an attempt to cram 5 boxes worth of stuff into a single box.
  • Moments of complete stillness as I stare at nothing and repeat things in my head, such as "Why did I wait til the last minute to do this?!"
  • Intentionally breaking things just so I don't feel bad about having to throw them away.
  • More swearing.
  • Driving vehicles that aren't mine, way too fast, in an attempt to get things moved out on time.

As exciting as this sounds, admission is completely free! A little help, or some food would be appreciated though. Tell your friends.

I filled the emptiness.. now what?

Sparx & Rainbow Cupcake Go To Whitecastle

The weather around here has been.. well.. lame. Almost unending thunderstorms for the last couple of days, tornado warnings (complete with annoying sirens), tornado touchdowns all around, hail - it's been brilliant.

Saturday was looking like a decent day to start moving. It was kind of humid, a bit cloudy, and a bit gloomy looking, but (since I hadn't checked the weather) I had no idea what was coming. I loaded my car up and took the quick drive to my new apartment. After eating and doing nothing for awhile, it started to rain. And rain. I started to wish that I had unloaded my car as soon as I got there.

Did I mention that it was raining? Pouring. Torrential. For a few minutes I even got to stand and watch nervously (from a 3rd floor balcony) as my car was pelted with hail. There was some big stuff coming down, but luckily it all avoided my car.

Once the weather let up, I quickly moved my stuff in, and at that point we decided to watch Harold & Kumar Go To Whitecastle. The movie finished up, one thing led to another, and before we knew it Kyle and myself were embarking on a one hour drive through this stupid rain to get to the nearest Whitecastle.

Our Whitecastle journey was pretty uneventful, but afterwards (even now) I have to question why we actually did it.

And everywhere I look, the world is flooded.

    I'm So Tired

I didn't sleep worth (insert the most offensive word you can think of) last night. There was less than a 2 hour span between the time that my eyes last looked at my clock and when I woke up to one of the most impressive rains I've ever seen.

I tried to fall back to sleep, but curiosity and some bizarre interest in watching rain prevented me from doing so. When the rain was at its strongest, I don't think I could even see 5 feet out my window. It was beautiful, loud, and not sleep.

I had a dream last night that I had a beautiful girlfriend and was completely happy. And then I woke up to a shocking reality - I really do have a beautiful girlfriend, and I really am happy. And I want a fedora.

Remember The Post About The Indiana Jones Fedora?

I think that's my longest blog post title ever.

Anyway, I really like that fedora, so much that if I found one that looked like it (and was $70 cheaper) I would buy it. But that brings up a few issues.

How would I avoid being "that weird guy that wears a fedora presumably to stand out and be noticed as the guy with the fedora"? It's one thing to wear a baseball hat around in public, another to wear a winter-ish hat around (especially during the summer), but a fedora? I can't really see myself making it work.

Also, hat hair. Assuming that the first issue was a non-issue, I can't wear a hat everywhere. At some point I would have to take it off, and at that point my hair would look like I had been wearing a hat all day. I guess I could get my hair cut even shorter.. that might solve that.

Most importantly though, wearing a hat like that almost requires that you fight bad guys and search for treasure. I'm not really sure I want to engage in such activities though. Usually such adventures end with getting the girl (which I already have. yay!) and cliffhangers leading to the next adventure - which just seems unnecessary. But, just in case, please refer me to any bad guys or ancient hidden treasures that you may know of.

    Thanks.

    I'm At Some Conference Thingy

I'm spending the day in Madison, WI talking about and being talked at about library related stuff.

It sounds terribly exciting, and I'm really.. really.. REEEAAAALLY excited. :-/

I'm planning on bringing my laptop and camera, so I may be around for commenting, emailing, chatting, etc with those of you that turn to me for distraction/entertainment/whatever. :)

Oh, and then band practice afterwards. For which I haven't done any practicing whatsoever. Overall, it should be quite the day.
