IDEA: Reversible Window Blinds

Someone should make window blinds that are black on one side of the slat thingy (whatever they're called) and white on the other.  That way you could have the white side facing out in the summer to reflect as much light back out as possible, and in the winter let the black side absorb most of the light and give off heat.

Bacon On Katie

Last Tuesday we were bored.. and things happened.

It all started completely harmlessly. Kelly sent me a link to bacon taped to a cat, and then we talked about obnoxious hats. This led to the idea of taping bacon to a certain hat, which ultimately ended up seeming like far too much work. We finally concluded that Katie would be a prime candidate for bacon-taping. So the idea was proposed to Katie, where it was met with very little resistance - but since we didn't have any bacon, it was just laughed off as a humorous joke. There was a lot of laughing.

Until.. Kelly got a sandwich for lunch. With bacon. Bacon that she wasn't going to eat. I felt set-up, but I don't think there was even the slightest part of me that even thought about resisting the temptation.

I taped. Kelly took pictures. Katie.. was taped to bacon.

Turkey Day

Yesterday there was an incident that may have involved me taping a piece of bacon to Katie. It's also quite possible that Kelly took pictures of it. It would also be reasonable to assume that I had planned to post about it today. But I will not. I'll save it for next week.

Instead, I want to wish all of you a great Thanksgiving tomorrow, or just a REALLY AWESOME Thursday if you don't celebrate T-Day. I don't plan on being anywhere near a computer and if I am, I won't be in any state to post.. so, yes, tomorrow is a vacation day for me from both work and blogging.

I once read that there is actually more trytophan  (the stuff in turkey that's supposed to make you sleepy) in beef than in turkey, and that it's generally the holiday over-eating that makes people so lethargic. Is that true? I don't know. It really doesn't matter, since either way I'm going to be eating enough turkey to put a cow to sleep. If cows ate turkey.

Carnivorous cows.. now that would make for some scary farms.
